The old Finnish record has finally been broken – Camilla Richardsson ran at breakneck speed

The old Finnish record has finally been broken Camilla

Camilla Richardsson broke the nearly 27-year-old 10,000-meter Finnish record by almost half a minute.

Endurance runner Camilla Richardson seems to be in good shape this summer. At least the first track race of the outdoor track season gave such a strong impression of it.

Richardsson smashed Finland’s time late on Saturday evening in London, the almost 27-year-old Finnish women’s 10,000 meter record of 31:40,42. It was Annemari Kiekaran on behalf of.

Richardsson’s tough new record time is 31.12.78. He improved his own record by more than a minute. He ran it last summer at the European Championships, where he was ninth.

Richardsson was not surprised by the record. However, the record improvement in question made jaws drop.

– In retrospect, I can say that I had pretty high expectations. I thought a little about my coach Jukka Keskisalon with that I’m going to try for the Finnish record, but I didn’t think it would be broken like this, Richardsson shared his feelings in the press release of the Finnish Sports Federation.

Richardsson ran the whole way in the second group and was able to run comfortably with the hose.

– I have to admit that I panicked a little when the 5000m Intermediate time was 15:37, which is roughly the same time I ran in my first 5000m race last season, Richardsson said.

– I wondered if I had started too hard, but I had a good place to run. And anyway, I had the attitude that today I will go hard and see how far it goes.

Richardsson already showed his strong fitness during the Halle era. He broke in the EC halls Sanda Eriksson with a time of 8:53.60 in SE of the 3,000-meter indoor tracks in the name.

In February, he ran a half-marathon with his record of 1.10.08. Richardsson’s main journey used to be steeplechase, but nowadays he has shifted his focus to longer track distances and road races.

In the future, the 29-year-old woman’s main sport may very well be the marathon.
