The comedy series about chaos boss Steve Carell about everyday life in an open-plan office that is as depressing as it is absurd still has millions of fans. Now, however, Leslie David Baker himself spoke up. As reported by the industry magazine Variety, among others, the The Office star explained in a statement on Instagram, the project has been put on hold for the time being to have. There were always shifts. Baker cited restrictions during the corona pandemic and uncertainty about how long the Hollwood strikes would last as reasons.

Although our Kickstarter campaign page states that we received $336,450.53, that is not the final amount that we received. Many of the donations were reduced, withdrawn entirely, and never collected once the campaign ended.

The money raised is not aside from refunds and donation rewards “touched” according to Baker. He left open whether and to what extent the project could be continued in the future.
