After a tentative start, the comedy series about everyday life in the fictional company Dunder Mifflin developed into a cult and meme factory. It made stars like Steve Carell and John Krasinski famous and ran for nine seasons. Now The Office is set to be revived.
This is what is known about The Office reboot
As industry insiders at Puck report (via The Independent ), is a Reboot of The Office in planning. The latest issue of the newsletter says that series creator Greg Daniels is currently working on the reboot of The Office.

The report is not yet an official confirmation. It is unclear whether Daniels is currently only working on an early concept or has already been given the green light for implementation. Since the striking screenwriters have come to an agreement with the studios’ interest group, we can assume that The Office project is slowly coming back to life. Further details about the implementation could become public in the coming weeks.
To date it is not known whether any of the original stars will returnand as long as actors in Hollywood continue to strike, nothing will change.
The sitcom was a remake, but became a cult object in its own right
The Office was itself a remake of the British cult series The Office by Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais. The first episode of the US version started in 2005, which greatly toned down the shameful humor of the original. Steve Carell took on the lead role of manager Michael Scott, and the other ensemble cast over the years included Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling and Ellie Kemper. James Spader and Will Ferrell later joined for shorter or longer appearances.
The sitcom brought it over 200 episodes in nine seasons, the series finale aired in 2013. The Office wasn’t a multicam sitcom like Friends or The Big Bang Theory, but was shot in the style of a mockumentary.
The Office wasn’t a big ratings hit compared to the series mentioned, but its availability on Netflix in the USA means it has achieved the status of a cult series of the Internet age that has been plundered as a source of memes and reaction gifs. The DunderMifflin subreddit, for example, has over 2.3 million members.
