HELSKRICKARD ANDERSSON left few digital tracks behind him. But a year ago, a large number of pictures were published on a file sharing site by an anonymous sender with pictures of a person who should be Rickard Andersson.
Rickard Andersson lived an isolated life and left few digital traces.
Now the perpetrator profile group has been called in to help the Örebropolis understand the motive behind the mass murder at Campus Risbergska.
– We will work with the facts and the findings that exist, says Eva von Vogelsang, head of the perpetrator profile group.
In normal cases, the police’s perpetrator profile group is called in with investigative murder, or at other serious crimes where you do not have a suspected offender.
But with the mass murder at Campus Risbergska is nothing as usual.
The perpetrator – Rickard Andersson – is dead and the police see no clear motive behind the act.
– If there is a perpetrator who is detained, then you can hold interrogations to get answers to some questions and so on. But here is not that possibility because he is deceased, says Eva von Vogelsang, criminal commissioner and head of the perpetrator profile group at NOA.
Instead, the perpetrator profile group will go through the entire Örebropolis’s material and visit places linked to Rickard Andersson.
– It is important for us to see the surroundings and think about this with election strategies and so on. It is probably not possible to visit this location indoors. But we look at surroundings and work with the facts and finds that exist, says Eva von Vogelsang,
Should cross the info
The offender profile group includes investigators and forensic technicians, but also people with experience in geographical analysis, behavioral science, forensic psychiatry and forensic medicine.
– It is this composition of skills that is our strength when we work, says Eva von Vogelsang.

Exactly what questions Örebropolisen wants help to get answers from the perpetrator profile group Eva von Vogelsang does not want to tell.
But Niclas Hallgren, Deputy Regional Police Chief, has previously told Nerikes Allehanda That they want an assessment of Rickard Andersson as a person to cross it against what you know about alone perpetrators.
– They have access to all the information we have about this person. They work methodically and evidence -based to get a profile on him. The profile may then be important for us to be able to conclude the motive for the act, Niclas Hallgren has previously told NA.
Injuries can cause clues
In general, the perpetrator profile group also usually looks at the victims’ injuries. It could also say something about the perpetrator.
– There is always an interaction between crime victims and perpetrators. If it is a living victim, you are of course hearing. If the victim is deceased, you have to interpret the injury image and what it looks like. It can generally give answers to questions about interaction and resistance, says Eva von Vogelsang.
– How much violence the perpetrator has used, and if it has used different types of weapons can also say something about the perpetrator, she says.
Do you think your work can help on the road to understanding why this has happened?
– You can’t answer right now. We will report our work to the investigation management based on these issues that they have left to us. But I want to express my deepest participation to the victims’ relatives in this difficult moment, says Eva von Vogelsang.
