More than 1,000 new infections of MPOX, long known as monkeypox, have been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the space of a week, according to the latest report from Africa CDC released today. The African Union (AU) health agency is also concerned about the high circulation of the virus in neighboring Burundi and the Central African Republic.
