The Norwegian reporter went out into the storm – about to blow away

The police cordoned off the center of Bodø on Thursday and sent out warning text messages to residents asking them to stay indoors.

Already when Norwegian VG’s reporter Kristina Kinne sat down to eat breakfast at 07:00, the whole hotel was rocking. She still got out during the day when the winds reached 40 meters per second.

– It is quite difficult to go through it. The police came and said it was life-threatening and told me to go in, she says in SVT’s Aktuellt.

During the day, schools in the area have been closed and all flights have been cancelled. Houses have had their roofs torn off and the power has gone out in several properties. No personal injuries have yet been reported.

The storm is described as the worst in Norway since 1992.
