The World Cup premiere was a great success for the Swedish ladies.
Something they are highly praised for.
Now the Norwegian ski expert has a call for all Swedes.
The World Cup premiere in Ruka was not a success for Sweden on the men’s side. Best placement of the weekend arranged William Poromaa in 10 kilometers classic. For the Swedish ladies, however, it went incredibly well.
Great success
Namely, it was a Swede who won in all three competitions, and there were a total of five Swedes who took a place on the podium.
First out was Emma Ribom who won Friday’s sprint, after a sprint battle with Jonna Sundling who finished second.

On Saturday took Ebba Andersson her first World Cup victory of the season, when she came first in the distance race of 10 kilometers in classic style. On the podium, Andersson was joined by Frida Karlsson who came third.
Finally stood Moa Ilar for a real bang when she won the 20 kilometer mass start. It was her first World Cup victory in her career, and she has previously not even taken a podium.
Crazy tribute
The Swedish cross-country women are now widely celebrated both in Sweden and outside the Swedish borders. The skiing expert Petter Skinstadfrom our neighboring country to the west, pours praise on our fine skaters.
“Three races, three Swedish winners. Five different girls on the podium. Several of them still out of shape from injuries, overuse, and more. It never happens, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the Swedish girls win every single race this winter,” writes Skinstad on X/Twitter.

The Norwegian also sends an invitation to all of us Swedes.
“You may never get a generation of skaters like this again, Sweden, so be sure to enjoy the coming years!”, concludes Skinstad.
