In the 2010s, almost every film studio in Hollywood tried their own Marvel Cinematic Universe to accomplish. What this means is a large film universe that is based on a well-known brand and builds up its characters over several films before they come together in a crossover event à la The Avengers.
Most of these attempts have failed, especially this Dark Universe from Universal, which wanted to unite iconic horror monsters in an epic story. After the starting signal, The Mummy, it was already over. But don’t worry, the next horrific film universe is already on the horizon.

The sequel, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, was quickly decided. But as Variety has learned, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios are planning the so-called Twisted Childhood Universe. The Avengers equivalent is Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.
