The top team of the NHL hockey league, the Winnipeg Jets, has picked up Finnish goaltender Kaapo Kähkönen from the waiver transfer list, where the Colorado Avalanche placed Kähkönen.
The TSN channel reported on the matter on Tuesday evening, among others.
Kaapo Kähkönen28, was still under a season with Winnipeg until the team placed him on waivers and the road led to Colorado.
Kähkönen played one game in Colorado this season, and in addition two games in Avalanche’s AHL farm club Colorado Eagles.
Kähkönen has played a total of 140 games in his NHL career, which started in the 2019-2020 season. He has previously represented the Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks and New Jersey Devils.
The Winnipeg Jets have started the season on a blistering pace with 14 wins and just one loss heading into Wednesday night’s game against the New York Rangers.
