Jonathan Toews says he is trying to try the NHL once again-at the age of 36.

Toews, 36, who played in the league last April 2023, told The Athletic on Monday, according to the NHL.
In April 2023, Toews learned that the Blackhawks no longer offered a long -term captain and a follow -up contract for 1,067 games.
A couple of months earlier, Toews had said that he was suffering from prolonged heels and autoimmune diseases, and for example, he was completely on the sidelines for the 2020-21 season.
– I’m not happy with how things ended in Chicago. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore, but the tank is not completely empty yet and I want to study (seams to return). I want to have fun and play with passion (yet), Toews told The Athletic.
– I want to leave the sport (only) to say that I have already given my best.
After Chicago’s career, Toews did not head to another club, but he has never officially announced that he had finished his hockey career.
– Everyone just somehow assumed I had stopped. But I just wasn’t (career) for a long time, I just needed time for myself and not to think about it. Now I really miss hockey and it’s a strong message.
In addition to their championships, the Toews merit list includes the MVP-Pysti of the most valuable player in the playoffs in 2010 and the NHL’s best defending striker for the 2013.
The Toews, which has been recorded by 372 goals and 511 goals so far, was also named the NHL’s “100 largest players” list during the centenary of the league 2017.
