The NHL has announced the match schedule for the 2024–25 season. NHL hockey will be played in Finland next season as well, when the new champion Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars will battle in the Tampere Arena on the 1st-2nd. November.
The season kicks off in the Czech Republic on October 4 with a match between the Buffalo Sabers and the New Jersey Devils.
In North America, the first games are scheduled for October 8. At that time, the Panthers will be able to raise their championship banner before facing the Boston Bruins. On the same day, the new team Utah Hockey Club will play against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The regular season is on break from the 10th to the 21st. February, when the four-nation tournament will be played. In it, NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States meet in Montreal and Boston. The Lions’ new head coach Antti Pennanen recently named Finland’s first players for the tournament.
1,312 matches are played in the regular season. The playoff pairs will be determined in the final round of the regular season on April 17 at the latest.
