It’s the huge scandal that everyone is talking about in the hockey World Cup.
When Joe Veleno stomped with his skate on Nino Niederreiter’s foot.
Now the arch-villain Evander Kane is attacking the compatriot.
During Saturday’s hockey World Cup summit between Canada and Switzerland, the thing that made all hockey lovers drop their jaws happened. Because even though Switzerland managed to shine and win against Canada with 3-2, it is something completely different that everyone is talking about from that World Cup match.
The WC scandal
In an irritated situation in front of the goal, Canada’s smoke Joe Veleno and Switzerland Nino Niederreiter quite together. But what everyone had missed was what happened before when Veleno did the most unthinkable to his opponent.

In a faceoff at the rim, Niederreiter had locked up the puck and then Veleno decided to raise his skates and stomp on the Swiss’s ankle, see the video below. The refereeing team never quite managed to see what was going on and therefore opted to just send Niederreiter off for the ensuing brawl.

The anger of the bus
After the game, the situation with Veleno’s stamping has spread throughout the hockey world and many have reacted strongly to the Canadian’s highly inappropriate actions on the ice, see the video below. Compatriot and arch-villain Evander Kane is now launching a hard-hitting attack on the WC player.
“This is why fights are needed in hockey. It makes you give up such ideas and helps control the game effectively,” writes the NHL star on Twitter.

Kane is really annoyed because he himself was involved in a similar situation during the NHL season when a skate rail cut open his wrist.
“It is a sick situation to see. Especially after my injury this year. Shameful,” writes the prankster in his social media post.

On Sunday evening, the news came that Joe Veleno is suspended for the remainder of the Hockey World Cup. When the International Ice Hockey Federation, IIHF, announced that the Canadian was punished with a five-game suspension.
– I accept the punishment and apologize for my behavior, says Veleno in an official statement.
