The next version of Windows 11, called 22H2, should welcome a new Microsoft application called Designer. Specialized in graphic design, it will make presentations, posters and flyers mainly for social networks.
Decidedly, it seems that Microsoft is gradually expanding the range of software that revolves around Windows 11. After the arrival of Clipchamp dedicated to video editing, the development of One Outlook for e-mail and Sound Recorder for audio recording, it’s the turn of the world of graphic design to prepare to welcome a new application: Designer. If you are familiar with the Canva platform, which allows you to create fairly elaborate visuals and flyers in a few clicks, you will probably be interested in Designer. First screenshots have leaked on the Web at the initiative of the leaker WalkingCat, generally well informed of what the American giant hides in its boxes.
On the program therefore, a graphic design tool straddling PowerPoint and Publisher which would make it possible to design posters, invitation cards, flyers and other graphic creations to be printed or shared on social networks. The interface seems to be in line with the tools currently published by the American giant with relatively few menus but easily identifiable functions.
There are obviously ready-to-use templates tailored for posts on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, the in-house social network, image libraries, etc.
It remains to be seen whether Designer will be powerful enough to overshadow the service Can go which, even in its free version, allows you to create beautiful illustrations as we explain in our practical sheet here or even stories on Instagram to read here. Microsoft could say more on May 24 at the developer conference Build 2022.
