The next generation of biathletes settled in USM in Timrå

It was sparkling winter conditions and January sun when the youth SC in biathlon was decided at the biathlon stadium in Timrå. With glittering stars and colors on their cheeks, the riders battled on the tracks and on the shooting range.

– Super fun to run races here, said Elin Bergman from Mora after the sprint race.

“Good that we can arrange”

– It is good that we can organize a competition here on home ground and that it worked so well with all the officials, stated Gustav Wessbladh from the organizing club Sundsvall Biathlon, who competed in the class P 14.

Pretty much all of Sweden was represented with riders from Småland to Norrbotten. Västernorrland was able to count several victories, including through the I 21 riders Linus Nylander in P 14 and Erik Tingelöf in P15, both from Sollefteå as well as Frida Lauri from Anundsjö in the F 15 class.

Varied sports increase interest

The competitions attracted around 100 participants and Gustav Wessbladh believes that the interest in biathlon is due to the fact that it is a varied sport.

– There are more moments than just skiing, he says and believes that it is exciting to also get to shoot.
