Demonstrations against the far right and the National Rally (RN) continue this weekend of June 22 and 23, 2024. Here is what we know about the dates, times and meeting places.
Two weeks before the early legislative elections which will take place on June 30 and July 7, thousands of demonstrators will continue to gather in the capital and in small and large towns in France to say no to the far right and to Jordan’s party Bardella (RN) in power. Last weekend, 640,000 demonstrators gathered across France. The demonstration which mobilized the most people took place this Saturday in Paris with a procession of 250,000 people according to the CGT against 75,000, according to the prefecture, which set off from the Place de la République to to Nation. In Quimper in Finistère, nearly 2,600 people gathered, in Valence in Drôme there were no fewer than 2,200 people and in Nancy in Meurthe-et-Moselle nearly 2,000 people.
On BFM TV, the general secretary of the CGT Sophie Binet spoke of a “popular tidal wave” to “prevent an organized catastrophe”. EELV national secretary Marine Tondelier, present at this weekend’s Parisian demonstration, spoke to the demonstrators: “Things are very simple today, it’s either the fascists or us. If you are here , is that you have chosen your camp But now it is all the others who must be sought out: those who are tired of voting, those who do not know, those who are afraid. , motivate them. We are together and we will win!”, she said.
New dates for demonstrations have already been announced by Attac France, the Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and for Citizen Action, as well as the territorial FSU (Unity Trade Union Federation), supported by associations such as SOS Racism and many left-wing unions, federations and collectives.
