While the loss of life increased day by day in the Russia-Ukraine war, it was claimed that people were buried in mass graves last week. While some photos were reflected in the press, the accuracy of the claims was not certain. A statement came from the United Nations official on the chilling issue…
Matilda Bogner, head of the United Nations (UN) human rights team in Ukraine, said mass graves had been dug in Russian-occupied Mariupol.
200 PEOPLE IN A TOMB
Bogner said that they received information that the lifeless bodies of 200 people were found in one of these mass graves.
Stating that some of the evidence was obtained from satellite images, Bogner said, “The information we receive about the mass graves is increasing day by day.”
Bogner said that the civilian casualties in Ukraine exceeded 1,035, and that his team was investigating seemingly random attacks by both sides.
Russia entered Ukraine on February 24 and this move, which they described as a special military operation, caused Western countries to impose very harsh sanctions. (Reuters)
