It was in March 1974 that production started in Wolfsburg. A total of 2,000 people have therefore chosen to buy a Golf every day for 50 years.

The Golf is the most successful Volkswagen model ever, and the most successful European car.
The car has now reached its eighth generation, and halfway to the ninth, Volkswagen has launched an update of the very popular model.
Volkswagen’s CEO, Thomas Schäfer, believes that “Golf offers affordable mobility for everyone”, which is why it has been so successful.

The update of the eighth generation Golf is not a revolution, but in typical German fashion it is a relatively conservative facelift, until you look more closely at the car.
First of all, the updated Volkswagen Golf has received new headlights, both in terms of design and when it comes to capacity. With the brand’s new IQ lamps, you have a range of over 500 meters with the high beam.

Updated Volkswagen Golf has received the brand’s new infotainment system, which debuted in the new ID.7. It is a clearly updated story that is faster, prettier, and more intuitive.
Volkswagen has also brought back physical buttons in the cabin, instead of the touch buttons that the brand invested in before.

One of the biggest innovations can be found on the driveline front. The new Volkswagen Golf eHybrid – the plug-in hybrid – now has a range of up to 100 kilometers on electricity. For those who are more sporty, there is also the GTE, also with an impressively long range on electricity.
The Golf GTI has been spiced up and now pumps out 265 horsepower via the front wheels. In the second half of this year, the Golf R and GTI Clubsport variants will also appear.
Volkswagen also offers entry-level models in the form of diesel and petrol cars, both as hatchbacks and station wagons. You can choose between a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a six-speed manual.
Updated Volkswagen Golf is launched this spring. Some prices for the Swedish market have not yet been communicated.
