The Swedish Consumer Agency is now warning of fraudsters who claim to be calling from the authority and who are trying to get people to identify themselves with a bank ID.

Among other things, the fraudsters have tried to scare their victims by saying that their IDs have been hacked, or that they have several unpaid invoices with a telecom company.

Now the Swedish Consumer Agency is going out and urging the public to contact the police if they are called.

“We never make these types of calls and never pay out any compensation,” writes the Swedish Consumer Agency in a press release.
