The next tank for Overwatch 2 is known and has been introduced. He’s so op that he always takes headshots – no matter where he hits.
Overwatch 2’s next big tank hero was introduced at BlizzCon – and it’s a real closet. The massive Mauga comes with two huge wummers (each as big as Tracer) and is intended to offer a tanking option that can also counter flying enemies like Pharah or Echo. Apart from that, he has a little “cheat” because Mauga can take headshots all over your body – even if he only hits you in the little toe.
Why does he always take headshots? This is because of his two weapons. Mauga has two huge guns, both of which can be fired at the same time, but have a special feature. His left weapon (“Gunny”) sets enemies on fire after a few hits. His other weapon (“Cha-Cha”) deals normal damage unless the enemy target is on fire. In this case, all hits are always critical hits – i.e. headshots.
What else can Mauga do? Apart from this “headshot cheat”, Mauga has other interesting abilities.
All healing and damage from outside the cage is blocked by a barrier.
When is Mauga coming? Mauga won’t appear in Overwatch 2 for a few weeks, but the developers have temporarily unlocked him in the game. If you want to try out the new hero, you should start Overwatch 2 straight away and see what you can do with the new hero in the arcade or quick match.
How do you like the new Tank Mauga? A cool new idea for Overwatch 2? Or does he not pick you up at all?
