After we were last able to delve into the time of the High Republic, we are now moving back into the era between the original and the sequel trilogy. The first season of Skeleton Crew starts on December 4, 2024 on Disney+. At the start there is a double episode. The remaining six chapters follow weekly. This results in the following release schedule:
What is the plot of Skeleton Crew?
The story of Skeleton Crew centers on four children who make an unexpected discovery on their home planet. Before they know it, they are drawn into an exciting adventure at the edge of the galaxy and must find their way home. When does Skeleton Crew take place in the Star Wars timeline?
The story of Skeleton Crew is set and takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi parallel to the other Mandoverse series (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka). However, you don’t have to have seen any of the series to understand the plot.

The trailer suggests it: Skeleton Crew was significantly inspired by US cinema of the 1980s, especially the adventure classic The Goonies. In addition, sci-fi films such as Steven Spielberg’s ET – The Extra-Terrestrial and Explorers by Joe Dante may also have inspired the series.
