With Game of Thrones: KingsRoad, a new action RPG appears in the universe of George Rrmartin’s successful book series on Steam. For a long time, fans of the world of Westeros no longer have to wait for the game: it appears in a few days.
What is Game of Thrones: KingsRoad? Game of Thrones: KingsRoad is a new open-world-RPG in the Game of Thrones Universe. In the game you are a bastard of the house Tyre, an insignificant nobility in Westeros.
You have the task of helping your house back to fame. Game-of-throne-typical, it should not only be about brutal struggles between warriors, but also about political power games. On your trip you will meet well -known characters of the series.
You travel Westeros in a large open world and face human and monstrous dangers in an action fighting system that is reminiscent of God of War. You should also be able to do all of this in the cross play co-op.
The game is developed by Netmarble Neo and appears on the mobile platforms and also on Steam. For a long time it was unclear when the game should appear exactly. Now we know: Game of Thrones: KingsRoad will be released on March 26, 2025 in early access. Different versions have already been announced.

Different versions of Westeros in early access
What early access versions are there? The early access begins on March 26, 2025 and to take part, you have to buy one of 3 packages on Steam:
On the Steam page, the developer confirms that the game after the early access will be free.
Will the game be worth it? You will have to wait and see how monetization will show up in the game. In the past, the South Korean developer Netmarble has mainly developed free mobile games known for controversial monetarization strategies. You can find an example of this in a Reddit thread about the game Marvel Future Fight.
If you are unsure, you can also wait until the full release. When this should go live is still unknown.
After all, the action -packed gameplay looks promising. Meinmmo author Linda Baumgartl was able to play the game for a few hours and she had fun. The gameplay reminded her primarily of a legendary role-playing game: The new action RPG for Game of Thrones on Steam reminds me of Witcher 3, could get better than season 8
