The new PS5 game with the Scandal outfit is much harder if you play it almost naked

The hotly anticipated PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade is causing a lot of discussion even before its release. After Sony apparently accidentally released a demo version and quickly removed it, the scandalous “Skin Suit” was the number 1 topic of conversation – now it turns out: The thing is not just a fashion statement, but actually has an impact on the game.

What kind of outfit is that? On March 9, 2024, a demo for Stella Blade went live in the PS5 store for a short time. Sony removed the apparently accidental release from the store after about an hour and blocked existing access, but that was enough for some users to get a first impression.

During this time, some players apparently didn’t make it any further than choosing an outfit and realizing that you can climb up and down ladders (via X). The “skin suit”, a kind of flesh-colored catsuit, makes protagonist Eve look virtually naked and was the topic of the hour.

But now it turns out that if you put your character in the scandalous outfit, you not only risk looking like a weirdo, but you also make your virtual life much more difficult.

What influence does the outfit have on the game? Anyone who was able to tear their eyes away from Eve and her model figure long enough in the demo to read the in-game description of the “Skin Suit” could find an important clue there. Translated it says:

Skin Suits are outfits specifically designed by Mother Sphere. They cover the Airborne Squad Member’s body and deploy on their own or expand and contract depending on the situation. In other words, it’s like living skin. (The protective shield is deactivated when wearing this skin suit.)

So when Eve is in her, well, Eve costume, she is significantly more vulnerable to damage. This can quickly mean death for inattentive players. X user ScourgeHH even talks about a kind of “hard mode” for Stellar Blade when equipping the suit. In other words: If you want to admire Eve practically naked, you better be able to avoid it.

The discovery is interesting in that it was previously assumed that the 30 promised outfits in Stellar Blade would be purely cosmetic in nature. Now it turns out that at least the “skin suit” influences the gameplay. It is unclear whether other outfits will also have such an impact on the way the game is played.

Curious gamers will probably have to wait until April 26th, because then Stellar Blade will appear on the PlayStation 5.

Not only does the skimpy outfit hide a deeper meaning, but also the design of the protagonist: boss of new PS5 game explains why they use a “beautiful heroine” and emphasize her bottom
