The new proposal: Mail every three days

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The postal investigation proposes that Posten should have three instead of two days to distribute letters.

– Sweden will still be the best and cheapest in the Nordics, says investigator Britt Bohlin.

Since 2000, the total volume of letters on the Swedish market has decreased by 47 percent. That development is expected to continue.

Therefore, the previous government appointed an inquiry to see how postal operations in the country should be financed. On Monday, investigator Britt Bohlin submitted his report to the current government.

The investigation suggests that today’s requirement to distribute mail within two days be changed to three days.

– This means that it takes a little longer for a letter to arrive, says Bohlin.

According to Bohlin, the proposals would mean that Sweden will have a good postal service.

– Sweden will have the best and cheapest postal service of all the Nordic countries, she says.
