Now a new picture of Duplantis and girlfriend Desiré Inglander is being celebrated.
What a fantastic 2023 that world star Armand Duplantis has had. The pole vault king started the year by breaking a new world record and got off to the perfect start.

Then “Mondo” continued to defend his WC gold outdoors, win the Finnkampen and again take home the overall victory in the Diamond League. The 23-year-old then finished the season in the best possible way by breaking a new world record again at 6.23 meters and further cementing his position as the world’s best pole vaulter by far.

But even if you are one of the world’s best track and field athletes right now and a real big star, he never forgets where he comes from. There is a Swedish city that means a lot to Duplantis and now he has been there to visit again.
“Mondo” is celebrated
We are of course talking about Avesta, where his mother grew up and where his grandmother and grandfather still live. The same city that erected a tribute to Armand Duplantis in the form of a pole vaulting stand that they raise for every new world record he breaks.

The bakery Avesta Wiener-Condis has now published a new picture of Mondo and his girlfriend Desiré Inglander visiting for a coffee, see the picture below.
“Today we really had a nice visit to our patisserie. The very world champion in pole vaulting – Armand Duplantis and family. We think it’s great fun,” writes Avesta Wiener-Condis on Facebook.

Now Armand and Desiré are being celebrated on social media by the locals who are so proud to have the young loving couple on site in Avesta, see the picture below.
“So nice, the young couple and Mondo chose to compete for little Sweden beautifully”, writes one person in the comment field.
“So funny, hope he bought something good! He is extremely talented and such a good and nice guy. Had I been there, I would have hugged him,” writes another.
