The new patch 10.2 will be released in a few days, right after BlizzCon

The next World of Warcraft update will be released sooner than expected. The time has already come at the beginning of November.

Things are a little boring in World of Warcraft right now. Although Blizzard releases new patches relatively quickly, the second season is “relatively exhausted”. Most players have long since had their optimal equipment and are waiting for the story and the item spiral to continue.

Blizzard has now revealed the release date for the next update. Things will continue in just 3 weeks.

When is patch 10.2 released? Blizzard has announced the release date for patch 10.2 Guardians of the Dream. The patch starts on November 8th, 2023 in Europe. Due to the different dates for maintenance work, the patch will go live on the US realms a few hours earlier, on November 7th.

What’s in Patch 10.2? The heart of the new patch is the journey into the Emerald Dream. The new world tree Amirdrassil is nourished here by the energies of the dream and is slowly being prepared for the transition to Azeroth. But the forces of Fyrakk, the Druids of Flame and the Elementals of the Firelands, attack the Emerald Dream and attempt to burn the new World Tree to preserve its power.

Highlights of the patch include:

  • New raid “Amirdrassil” with Fyrakk as the final boss
  • New Glory Faction “Guardians of the Dream”
  • New outer world zone, the Emerald Dream
  • There is of course the usual content, such as a new season, fresh animal sets and lighter revisions to several classes, such as the rogue or the demon hunter.

This time, Blizzard is attaching great importance to ensuring that solo players also have a lot to do.

Is there anything else to come after that? Apparently patch 10.2 is the last “big” patch for Dragonflight, because it brings an item that is only available in the last raid tier. However, the developers have revealed that more story will be told afterwards, probably in smaller patches. It is also likely that there will be a “Season 4” in which all raids will become relevant again – as was the case with Shadowlands.

We’ll find out what happens next with World of Warcraft and the next expansion on November 3rd at BlizzCon 2023.
