Stina Nilsson has returned to cross-country skiing again.
But this time there is full focus on long runs – right?
For now, new information is being given about both the national skiing team and the skiing WC.
It was four years ago that Stina Nilsson ended his career as a cross-country skier and took on a completely new challenge. She switched sports to biathlon and surprised the entire skiing world.

But it was only four seasons as a biathlete, where Nilsson often had to receive harsh criticism and slurs about his efforts. In the spring, the next announcement came when the 31-year-old also put the rifle on the famous shelf to return to cross-country skiing again.

This time, instead, it will be a wholehearted commitment to long-distance running, and already this winter, Stina will compete in the Ski Classics and the Vasaloppet. The return to cross-country skiing again also means that she can become available for both the national ski team and the ski WC 2025 in Trondheim.

Now the national skiing team gives new information about a comeback for Stina Nilsson.
– I know what an incredibly determined girl she is and now that she switches back to regular skis, she will give everything for it. I also think it suits her to go long-distance, says the national team manager Anders Byström to SVT.
– It would be fun to see her in a qualifying race. We’ll see, maybe I don’t think she wants it herself – but you never know with her. She has to qualify just like everyone else. But with the qualities she has, it’s not impossible that she would do it.

Former teammate and sprint colleague Linn Svahn also says what she thinks about seeing Stina Nilsson in the national skiing team again.
– No, I don’t think so. Because I think that if she enters to run the “Vasan” (Vasaloppet), she enters for that, and not to have a foot to possibly run a championship, because she has already done that, she says to the television channel.
– If she had wanted to run the WC, I think she would have had to stop training for that, not just to run for ten miles.
