Armand Duplantis is enjoying his time off right now.
But the Swede has made decisive decisions for the future.
His own agent Daniel Wessfeldt reveals it now.
The year 2022 has been absolutely incomparable for Armand Duplantis who really cemented his place as master of the floor in the world of pole vaulting. The Swedish superstar won the rub with double WC gold, both indoor and outdoor, EC gold, overall victory in the Diamond League and world record twice.
Duplanti’s decision
For the incredible feats, “Mondo” was recently awarded with the prestigious award as “World’s Best Athlete 2022”. The 23-year-old is really at the peak of his sporting career and has already won everything there is to win at such a young age.

But the motivation and hunger are still there and Duplantis is already prepared to chase new world records and medals next season. Currently, the Swedish golden hero is on vacation and enjoying his Christmas break, but already now he has made a decisive decision for his immediate future.

Can win the EC
The plan for the coming season is to start the indoor investment as early as February 2. Then the new world record hunt begins with his very own competition “Mondo Classic” in Uppsala.

But it will be a record-short indoor season for Duplanti.
– He doesn’t want too many competitions, wants a little longer in between. And he doesn’t have to be involved in everything indoors because it’s constant conditions, says Mondo’s agent Daniel Wessfeldt to TT.

After that, there will only be three more competitions in February for the 23-year-old. Then the indoor season ends on March 2-5 with the athletics EC in Istanbul, Turkey, but it is highly uncertain if we will see Armand Duplantis then.
– There is no decision on the EC. Whether he lines up or not certainly has to do with how he feels and how things go forward in the competitions, agent Wessfeldt told the news agency.
Duplanti’s Competitions:
February 2: The pole gala Mondo Classic in Uppsala.
February 10: Indoor gala in Berlin, Germany.
February 15: Indoor gala in Lievin, France.
February 25: Stave Gala in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
