After Bumblebee, which was unable to build on previous financial successes but received good reviews, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts followed. The difficult development of the Transformers series
Those who fly high also fall low. Paramount Studios had to realize this after Part 3 Dark Side of the Moon and Part 4 Era of Extinction Billion mark broken had. This was followed by a crash with Transformers 5: The Last Knight to revenues of “only” $600 million. For many films this would be a gigantic windfall, but for the successful sci-fi franchise it shows that apparently 40 percent of the audience has had enough of the Autobots.
A reboot followed in 2018 with the spin-off Bumblebee. The plot now focused on just one Autobot, the gigantic action scenes were reduced and the plot became more emotional. What met with approval from critics and audiences, achieved the worst box office result to date at $460 million. So five years later they tried Rise of the Beasts another reboot that will become a trilogy.
That’s what Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is all about
In the seventh part the action takes place in the 90s. Archeology assistant Elena (Dominique Fishback) and ex-soldier Noah (Anthony Ramos) discover a mysterious artifact that unleashes an ancient conflict between different species of Transformers. The Autobots are supported by the animal-like Maximals; together they fight against the enemy Terrorcons.

Everyone can decide for themselves with the home cinema version whether the film succeeds in balancing the action-packed material battle and emotional storyline.
Paramount announced how the series would continue in February 2022. Because Rise of the Beasts is supposed to be the first of three new parts of the franchise. Caple Jr. also shared what we can expect in the next part: a crossover with the GI Joe film series. Game manufacturer Hasbro is uniting its characters and we are excited to see whether Transformers will rise again or whether the numbers will continue to fall.
