It has been a long way back for the star Swede and Milan have had to cope without their great leader on the field for a long time. It has still gone well as the reigning champion team is again at the top of Serie A with 26 points from 11 games and is in second place behind undefeated Napoli.

But now the Italian site Semper Milan reports on happy news for Ibrahimovic. So far, the 41-year-old has not suffered any complications or setbacks during the rehabilitation and the medical team’s goal is to have the Swede ready to play by January 18.

Then Zlatan can make a grand comeback when Milan face arch-rival Inter in the Italian Super Cup final. A perfect occasion for the attacking star to return to the pitch and steal the limelight in Italy.

Milan coach Stefano Pioli recently paid tribute to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his admirable attitude at a press conference.
