A new feature is currently being tested in Pokémon Go. This causes confusion in the community.
What is the Go Pass? The Go Pass is a kind of Battle Pass that was already active for the Go Tour 2025. Since April 1st, he has been back in a free and a paid variant.
On social media, some trainers report how different the details of the passport are with them. Not only can there be different options for climbing ranks in the pass, but even different rewards.

Availability of the pass: The biggest difference in the Go Pass is the availability itself. While there are some coaches and regions in which the passport is not yet available, it is available in others.
On Reddit, several coaches from the US East coast report that they don’t have a Go pass. Trainers who live in Australia sometimes report different things. Some trainers have access to the Go Pass, others don’t.
Points for ranking: If you want to climb ranks in the Go pass, you have to collect 100 points for a rank. You get points for catching regular and legendary monsters as well as for hatching. According to reports on Reddit, there are also differences.
The value of how many points there are for the activities is different. The following variants are known:
The amount of points that can be collected every day is also partly different. There are limits of 125 points, 250 points and 300 points. The last two limits can appear among trainers who have the increased number of points when catching monsters and the hatching of eggs.
Daily and weekly tasks: In the Go Pass you can have daily and weekly tasks that bring you additional points. There are also differences here. For some trainers there are only weekly tasks, for some only daily and even neither variants in others.
Rewards: There are also differences in the rewards. As can be seen in another post on Reddit, some trainers can receive the last reward in 50th place and others in 100th place. The paid variant is the Glücksklimbim, which in the past caused frustration with coaches.
Why are there differences? As Niantic announced at the start of the function, the feature is currently being tested in the game. This can also explain the differences among the trainers.
With large rollouts of new features, Pokémon Go is common for the functions to only be made available to some of the trainers. Therefore, it happens that not all coaches have the new function in the game.
There have been no tests in which new functions are even tested in different variants among the trainers, but is not particularly surprising in a larger new function.
It is not yet known whether and when the Go Pass will be completely available for all trainers in the game. The results of the current test can influence the exact form in which the function finds its final path into play – if the test is successful.
Regardless of whether this function is already in the game or not: the events in April are available for all players. There are different content and bonuses that will be active in the events. When the events take place, you can see in our overview with all events in April 2025 in Pokémon Go.
