The new fiasco for Sweden in the Biathlon World Cup – after everyone shot away properly: “It’s too much”

The Swedish biathletes won eleven medals in Oberhof last year.
This year’s WC is so far mostly one big blue-yellow disappointment.
Sebastian Samuelsson, Martin Ponsiluoma and Jesper Nelin shot away in the distance race.
– This won’t go anywhere, says shooting coach Johan Hagström to SVT.

Sebastian Samuelsson started with a boom in the lying and one in the standing, but shot full on the third visit to the dam. Another miss on the last and he was out of a medal chance.

Martin Ponsiluoma had it worse. With three missed shots, he incurred three minutes in overtime after the first two shots. After two new barriers in other lying, the day was ruined.

The article continues below.

Jesper Nelin left the third shooting with a total of four misses in the contest.
– It’s not as we imagined. There are too many booms in these conditions. It’s not the start we wanted, says coach Johannes Lukas to SVT.

Peppe Femling is last out of the Swedes in the distance race over two miles in Nove Mesto out in the Czech countryside. He started by firing two shots.
