The Edmonton Journal journalist David Staples posts the text surrounding Darren Dreger’s statement, and thinks it’s the right time for Edmonton to go for Karlsson right now. This then several of the veterans, who Evander Kane and Zach Hyman are on a downward spiral in their careers.

Staples also says that even though it may sound like a long shot to bring in Karlsson, Dreger is a well-regarded person when it comes to transitions, and that there is no doubt that Edmonton will have a concrete interest in the Swedish back giant.
