The new crime scene investigator duo for Frankfurt has been chosen

The new crime scene investigator duo for Frankfurt has been

The new detective duo of the Frankfurt Tatort comes with concentrated power: Melika Foroutan and Edin Hasanovic form the new team of the successful ARD show. This is not unfamiliar territory, especially for Foroutan. She already played a tough detective in the ZDF series KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst. And the Iranian-born actress also played the main character in the ARD crime film series Kommissarin Louise Boni.

Her colleague Edin had a taste of Tatort several years ago. Not as an investigator, but as a suspect in the show. But the Berliner also quickly got used to Frankfurt. Hasanović plays the lead role in the Netflix hit Skylines, a drama series set in Frankfurt.

New faces, new cases: This is what Tatort fans can expect

But it’s not just the figureheads of the Frankfurt crime scene that are changing with Melika Foroutan and Edin Hasanović. The station is also moving into new territory with its criminal cases. The investigative team will focus on cold cases. This means unsolved murders and homicides that were filed away in the past. This concept was particularly successful in convincing the Netflix star, as he revealed to HR:

Police investigations in old, previously unsolved criminal casesI find it fascinating to revisit works that are relevant to the here and now. This special concept convinced me from the very beginning!

Hasanović is also particularly looking forward to working with Foroutan, as the two already know each other from before.

I’m really looking forward to my role as a cold case investigator in the Frankfurt crime scene in a team with my wonderful colleague Melika Foroutan! She was one of my first colleagues in 2005 when I started in front of the camera, so it’s a wonderful circle coming full circle for me.
After ten years and 19 cases it is over

Melika Foroutan and Edin Hasanović are following in big footsteps. Margarita Broich and Wolfram Koch have been in front of the camera for Tatort in the Hessian metropolis since 2014. In December last year, the two of them finished their final scenes and around ten years and 19 exciting cases later, the dynamic duo is saying goodbye to a large fan base.
