The new co-op RPG for Steam and PS5 introduces housing and even lets you pet pets

The new co-op RPG Wayfinder from publisher Digital Extremes will go into Early Access in a few days. The game makers gave an outlook on how housing will work in the game.

When will Wayfinder start Early Access? Wayfinder will enter Early Access on August 15, 2023 and will be available for PS4, PS5 and PC platforms.

After the game was already playable in the beta, a new gameplay aspect is to be integrated with the early access: apartments and thus the housing. You also have the option of keeping a pet.

With early access, housing in Wayfinder becomes possible

In the first developer livestream and on their website, the game provided more details on what housing will offer in Wayfinder Early Access:

    • You can place your decorative objects in the room as you wish and thus build a cozy home. You have different furniture at your disposal, from bookshelves to different light sources. These items can be obtained as the game progresses and earned through the Reward Tower.

    Besides that, you can also place a furry roommate in the room that will be waiting for you when you return from the trips. And yes, you can pet your pet too.

    In addition, the artifacts and trophies you earn that you can place in your apartment should also have an impact on your adventures in the game world. Any artifacts and trophies that affect gameplay can be earned in-game.

    What will come later? Beyond Early Access, the developers have plans to expand housing in Wayfinder even further.

    The apartments are supposed to eventually become whole neighborhoods, where you can also choose and buy your own land to live as neighbors next to your friends. Special neighborhood quests, shared buffs and guild neighborhoods will also follow in Zulunft.

    In addition, your pets should be able to accompany you later when you leave the house. In addition, other decorative objects, such as floors and wallpaper, are to follow.

    Regular updates are also planned, which should bring you new items every season. With time-limited promotions you will be able to get special rewards.

    In order to get Early Access for Wayfinder, you have to buy a so-called Founder Pack, for which you pay between €17.99 and €129.99 depending on the package (via playwayfinder).

    In addition to access to the game, the packages contain exclusive items and customization options for the game characters.
