The new announcement about Linn Svahn ahead of the season – reveals the Swedish ski star’s big goal for the winter: “We work for that”

Linn Svahn returned to the top of the world last season.
And the Swede exceeded all expectations at the World Cup.
Now the 24-year-old’s big goal for the coming winter is revealed.

It was in February 2021 that Lynn Svahn had an unfortunate fall before the World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf and seriously injured his shoulder. What she didn’t know then was that that injury would ruin the next two years for her.

Svahn’s great success

Two skiing World Cups and a Winter Olympics were spoiled for her and they have been an extremely tough time for the Swedish sprint specialist. Only this winter was Svahn able to return to his usual self and start winning World Cup races again.

And as she did. When the first World Cup victory in over 1,000 days came during the Tour de Ski, everything dropped and Linn began to line up winning races ahead.

Linn’s goal

Last season was a great success for Svahn, who won the overall Sprint Cup and came second in the overall World Cup. The Swede’s success at the World Cup surprised even her personal trainer Ola Ravald.
– I absolutely believed that she would be able to fight for the sprint cup. And I know she’s at a very high level in the distance, and she’s developed her overall ability, so I thought she could be a top-10 competitor more often. But we hadn’t even discussed the overall World Cup. This, of course, considering the concerns she has had. But I remember a week just before Christmas, when all the blemishes just went away and everything worked in training. There was a difference from pass to pass. It was awesome to see, says Ravald in an interview with lånding.se.

Now the big question is whether Linn Svahn will go for the overall World Cup title next winter. Because there is also a skiing WC in Trondheim 2025 looming.
– Linn’s goal is for her to convey herself, but for the winter, the WC in Trondheim is what we are planning the training for. Right now, we are primarily working on sprints and team sprints, but it is clear that we are also looking at the other distances, says coach Ravald about the goal.

One change in the arrangement that Svahn will make for next season is to test the new success trick from Norway with double thresholds on training days.
– We have made an analysis of the past season. Linn came up to a good level, but there are also some parts that she can continue to develop; in addition to developing the total riding capacity, among other things, it is about starters; finish lines and certain technical elements. We have a checkpoint list of things to work on and things we will graze on. After all, the thing with this is that it cannot be solved with a passport here or there. It’s about grinding things out and working with the development parts over time, says Ola Ravald in the interview.
