Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is leaving politics, Dutch media reports.
This announcement is given by Rutte himself a couple of days after his coalition government collapsed as a result of a row over migration issues.
– On Sunday I decided that I will not be available as leader of the VVD (People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy) in the upcoming election, says the Prime Minister.
Rutte has been the Prime Minister of the Netherlands since October 2010.
