The family of FC Honga’s Mozambican winger was forced to live in uncertainty after the club’s parent company announced its problems.
The financial difficulties of FC Honga’s background company Esport Honka Oy have put the players of the representative team in a difficult situation.
Esport announced last week that it will not apply for a league license for the upcoming season. On Thursday, Esport filed for bankruptcy.
Captain of Honga Henri Aalto said on Thursday For Helsingin Sanomatthat of the Mozambican midfielder Clésio Bauquen the family was stuck in Finland due to unpaid wages.
– They don’t have money because they haven’t been paid. Secondly, the family had a close relative’s funeral two weeks ago, which took a lot of money. Esport doesn’t do anything about it, Aalto told HS.
Clésio is currently on national team assignment in Africa, but his wife and daughter are still in Finland.
For several days, Aalto was in contact with the club about this issue. On Thursday evening, it was finally confirmed that Esport will pay for the family’s flights to their home country. Aalto told Urheilu on Friday morning that the club has started organizing flights for players who need them.
– The purpose is for Clésio’s family to get home as soon as possible.
The arrangement of the trip home has been a big relief for the midfielder and his family.
– Clésio sent a message in which he thanked for the help. I believe that there are now satisfied and relaxed atmospheres, Aalto said.
Salaries are applied for from salary security
The players of Honga’s representative team have not received last month’s salaries. Some also lack other receivables such as bonuses or travel/living expenses.
According to Aalto, the players have been frustrated and disappointed.
– The majority of foreign players are still training, because we are still obliged to work. Individual situations vary a lot, and some players show stress more clearly. Some should send money home, some have small children… I have tried to say that if there is an acute emergency, we will help in every way possible.
– However, as a team, we have been able to keep one.
Thursday’s bankruptcy filing ended several days of confusion. With the bankruptcy, the players are now applying for salary security. With that, the salaries should arrive in about two weeks.
– Now we can direct our eyes to the following concrete steps: the duration of the players’ contracts, the amount of receivables, future prospects and so on.
In an interview with HS, Aalto strongly criticized Esport’s owner Färid Ainetdin and the media representative by Kurt Möller activities and their weak conversational connection with the players. In the future, a discussion related to legal matters will be held with the administrator of the bankruptcy estate.
– However, in the midst of everything, it’s great that human respect has been preserved. My interview was published yesterday, and today Kurt Möller and I greeted each other when we bumped into each other. It was nice to notice that people are still able to meet each other, Aalto said.
