It is stated that it is planned to accept 110,000 skilled workers in Australia this year. According to the news in The Strait Times, discussions are continuing to remove the country’s immigration cap due to a severe shortage of workers, which forces some businesses to restrict working hours and services. As Australia, which has filled its annual quota of approximately 160,000 permanent immigrants since 2017, closed the borders tightly from 2020 to the beginning of this year due to the Kovid-19 outbreak, there was a serious decrease in the flow of immigrants to the country.

Due to these problems, the country plans to accept 110,000 skilled workers this year.
While 195 thousand people had temporary skilled worker visas in 2014, this number is now 96 thousand in the country.
It was reported that the number of skilled workers leaving Australia in April was more than arriving in the country. (AA)
