The Navy is investigating sabotage at the second cable

The navy has begun the investigation of the broken cable between Sweden and Lithuania.

We started searching there early this morning. It has been possible to work until now, but it has started to blow significantly more. It is well on the verge of being able to carry out searches, says the navy’s press officer Jimmie Adamsson.

What we are looking for is a reason why the cables have either been damaged or broken.

The investigation of the cable between Finland and Germany was completed late on Wednesday evening. Adamsson does not want to comment on possible findings with reference to preliminary investigation confidentiality.

“Carried out in secret”

Previous sabotages have generally been difficult to investigate because they are characterized by factors that point to hybrid warfare, according to Adamsson.

The business is carried out in secret and can be denied.

In the current case, it is still too early to establish that the same method was used.

We’re not quite there in the proof mode. Previous events in the Baltic Sea, which this one seems to resemble, are difficult to link to anyone.
