In the coming of age comedy, Lawrence takes on the role of 32-year-old Maddie, who lives her days in her hometown of Long Island and earns her living as an Uber driver. When her car is towed away, her source of money suddenly disappears and she becomes aware of a bizarre internet advertisement.
A wealthy couple worries about their 19-year-old son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), who spends most of his youth in the nursery and has little contact with his peers. He wants a date that will teach him how to live properly over the summerbefore Percy falls behind his fellow students at college. Maddie doesn’t have to be told twice – because in the end she gets a new car.
