The Swede felt that he received too little traction from his competitors in the track.
– A Norwegian tactic, says Swedish national team manager Anders Byström.
The Swedish star William Poromaa did not manage to take in enough of the lead in Sunday’s chase start in the Tour de Ski. The race was otherwise a good one, and Poromaa finished seventh after taking 15 places.

Despite that, it was an insane Swede who crossed the finish line.
“What the hell is it about?”, Poromaa shouted shortly after the finish while the poles flew to the ground in anger. What then was the reason for the outbreak?

– I don’t care what people think and think. If I scream, I scream. Then it has to be like that, says Poromaa to Nettavisen.

I think he expected to get some help, that more people could drive in front, says Byström to Nettavisen, referring among other things to the group of Norwegians who were in the same group as William Poromaa.

There three of the Norwegians in the form of Martin Löwström Nyenget, Sindre Björnestad Skar and Simen Hegstad Krueger positioned himself in front of Poromaa. A deliberate tactic? Perhaps.
