The national skiing team’s drastic measures after Frida Karlsson and Linn Svahn’s defection – act immediately

Sweden has suffered two tough exits from the World Cup.
Both Frida Karlsson and Linn Svahn have been forced to leave.
Now the Swedish national ski team is acting with a drastic measure.

Ever since the ski WC in Planica, the Swedish national ski team has been affected by several tough cases of illness in the restart of the world cup. When the ladies were to complete the historic five-mile in Holmenkollen last weekend, two of the biggest names were forced to throw in the towel.

Karlsson is ill

Both big favourites Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson chose to stand over the World Cup race in Norway. The latter had high hopes of still getting to the start for the sprint in Drammen on Tuesday.

But then came the new news that Karlsson had to leave Norway immediately on Friday due to his illness.
“After training in the morning, Frida Karlsson still does not feel ready to compete. She is now going home from Norway to prepare for the competitions in Falun,” wrote the national skiing team in a press release.

Svahn is also ill

Then came the next setback when also Lynn Svahn was forced to return home from Norway. She also felt ill and had to cancel her participation in Drammen’s World Cup competitions.
“Linn Svahn has returned home due to symptoms of illness on the plane and will not take off tomorrow. It is too early to know anything for sure before the World Cup in Falun,” writes the national skiing team in an official statement.

In the past, even the WC heroes have William Poromaa and Emma Ribom has had to say no to Holmenkollen due to colds. The cases of illness now mean that the Swedish national team is acting with a drastic measure to overcome the problems.

The national skiing team is forced to introduce tougher restrictions within the World Cup squad from now on, Sweden announces in a press release. The World Cup season is coming to an end and here next are competitions in Falun, then there are still in Tallinn and Lahtis the following week.
