The National Museum of Natural History in Stockholm closes due to race risk

The National Museum of Natural History in Stockholm is closing due to the risk of rust in the ceiling, writes P4 Stockholm.

“Due to examination and measures of part of the ceiling in the museum’s main building, including some passages to other premises, the museum will be closed until further notice,” the museum writes on its website.

There is no forecast for how long it will take before the museum can reopen.

“We are actively working for a solution and will return with updated information as soon as possible,” writes the museum.

Superintendent Lisa Månsson has spoken to Magasin K. She says that the museum needs an extra SEK 27 million in state grants for next year to cope with increasing expenses.

– I can state that the economy looks like it will be extremely tough for the museum this autumn and in the years to come, she says.
