This body, which acts as Parliament, takes office this Saturday morning February 5 at 10 a.m. But several political parties are expressing their frustration and feel aggrieved in the distribution of seats.
Following the coup that overthrew President Alpha Condé on September 5, 2021, the National Assembly had been dissolved. Instead, a CNT was created to pass laws during the transition period. In total, 81 advisers from different bodies of society have been appointed, following a selection arbitrated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
Of the 81 councillors, political parties occupy 15 seats. Among them, four return to the coalition which supported Alpha Condé. Sayon Mara, the RPG adviser within the CNT, would have liked to have had more votes in Parliament.
” We took note of the appointment of the advisers, we will not boycott, we will sit. We can’t stay out and say we don’t agree and then we have to hold the debate so that the transition takes place in the best conditions. »
Same bitterness expressed by Anad, the opposition coalition which supports Cellou Dalein Diallo. The Anad advocates a transition of fifteen months, and hopes to pose this debate outside the CNT, where it already feels marginalized.
” We are not satisfied by the fact that we were discriminated against by the Ministry of Territorial Administration which gave us only one seat. Our political adversaries have had more and therefore it shows a message of non-neutrality but we think that we will contribute otherwise to the progress of the debates through the dialogue that we are calling for “, indicates Keamou Bogolo, responsible for the communication of the Anad.
Despite this lack of initial consensus, the advisers of the CNT will have to work together on crucial questions, in particular on the duration of the transition and the development of a new Constitution.
