To combat men’s violence against women and honor violence, Minister of Labor and Gender Equality Eva Nordmark (S) and Märta Stenevi, spokespersons for the Green Party, presented eight measures at a press conference today. Among other things, the National Board of Health and Welfare is tasked with strengthening support for the municipalities to help victims of violence to arrange permanent housing. The police’s competence in dealing with mental illness must also be strengthened and a national center against honor-related violence and oppression must be established.
