Two boys, aged 15 and 17 respectively, a 16-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were charged today after the three murders and seven attempted murders. A father of a small child was shot dead in his villa in Västberga and the mother of the family received life-threatening injuries. In her arms she held one of her two children, who was also injured.
– The child received a superficial injury to the stomach and was a hair’s breadth away from dying, says senior prosecutor Helena Nordstrand.
The following night, on October 13, two women in their 20s and 60s were shot dead. Also in that villa were three children and a woman who escaped the automatic fire.
– It is not entirely clear why the first family was chosen. The other family is related to a serious criminal, so one can imagine that the motive lies there. But it must be emphasized that none of the family members who have been hurt themselves have any criminal connection at all. These are completely innocent families with children, says Nordstrand.
The murder contract: “150 per skull”
The 17-year-old, who was 16 at the time of the crime, is accused of being the shooter in both incidents, while the 15-year-old is suspected of having instigated the crimes. They are said to have planned the attacks from inside an HVB residence.
– What we have been able to see is that the instigator and the shooter were at the same HVB home at the same time. Both have since escaped from there in different rounds. We’ve seen chats where we claim the 15-year-old and the shooter are talking to each other. We have seen the 15-year-old state to the shooter that he will be compensated for carrying out the acts and that the 15-year-old will provide a “printer’s apartment”, weapons and so on.
– It is the 15-year-old who hires this shooter. He is contracted to perform the deeds. Then we don’t think that the 15-year-old was alone in this, but there are other chats where it appears that other people, who we don’t know who they are, have been involved in the planning.
“Super brutal violence – stands out”
The 17-year-old suspected shooter was allegedly promised money for each murder.
– There would be a compensation of “150 per skull” and I take that to mean that there would be a compensation of 150,000 kroner per person killed.
– As far as we can see, there was no more specified mission than to enter these addresses and kill. We cannot answer why certain people were shot, but my guess is that they went out to kill as many as possible.
The prosecutor calls the case too unusual.
– It is a case that is really special in several ways. It is completely innocent families with children who are affected in their own homes in the middle of the night. It’s super brutal violence and yet so many young people are involved in this. It stands out.
The motive behind the shootings is not entirely clear. But according to police and prosecutors, it is believed to be part of the internal conflict in Foxtrot.
