It was on January 24 that a 75-year-old man was found stabbed – at least 15 times – in his car along a village road.
Gällivare district court has found that a man aged 45, who is related to the deceased, is guilty of the murder when the evidence is deemed convincing.
Not seriously mentally ill
The man would, however, undergo a forensic psychiatric examination to be able to decide whether he should be sentenced to prison or care – and it is now complete.
“XX did not commit the act in question under the influence of a serious mental disorder,” the forensic psychiatric statement reads.
The man also did not suffer from a serious mental disorder at the time of the examination and there are therefore no medical conditions to hand him over for care.
The prosecutor asked during the trial for 18 years in prison for murder.
