It was in March last year that Joullnar was found dead in a wooded area in Taberg. Later, a 22-year-old man, who lived not far from the scene, was arrested and later charged with murder.
In the Jönköping district court, the man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for murder. The man was also sentenced to deportation, with a ban on returning without a time limit, and to pay damages to Joullnar’s children totaling SEK 445,000.

Deputy Chief Prosecutor Pernilla Törsleff, who requested a life sentence, chose to appeal the district court’s verdict to the Court of Appeal.
The 22-year-old has denied crime all along and claimed that Joullnar was alive when he left the home.
Two days are set aside for negotiations in the Göta Court of Appeal. The second day’s negotiations will be held on April 4.
