In September last year, a 32-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment on Haga in Umeå. The woman had been subjected to brutal violence.

Suspected murder at Haga

  • 29-year-old sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murder of Haga in Umeå

  • The prosecutor wants to see life imprisonment for suspects in the murder of Haga: The man had the intention to kill

  • A forensic psychiatric investigation showed that the man committed the crime under the influence of a serious mental disorder. However, he was not judged to suffer from a mental disorder at the time of the examination.

The man is now appealing the sentence to the Court of Appeal and wants to be acquitted of murder, because he believes that he did not intend to kill the woman.

    – It is not reasonable that he receives any punishment because he had a lack of intent. In that case, he should be sentenced for a crime of negligence, the man’s lawyer Petter Hetta has previously told SVT.

SVT Nyheter is looking for the prosecutor in the case and the man’s lawyer.
