Two Swedish men, who are linked to gang leader Ismail Abdo, were shot in a cafe in Turkey.

One of them died.

But the police do not believe that the act was planned, according to information to Aftonbladet.

On Sunday evening, a shooting occurred outside a cafe in Istanbul, Turkey.

According to Turkish media, a fight between two groups must have arisen and then degenerated into a shootout where two Swedish citizens were hit by bullets.

A 32-year-old was shot in the leg and a 29-year-old was shot to death.

Both have close connections to the Swedish gang leader Ismail Abdo, also known as “The Strawberry Man”.

But according to information to Aftonbladet, the murder is not believed to have been planned. If the police’s theory is correct, it means that the men bumped into each other by chance, or that the situation arose unintentionally.

Fears revenge

Several days have passed since the murder and the shooting took place and so far no one has been arrested, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

However, three suspects are said to have fled the scene after the shooting, according to Turkish media. A gun and eight empty bullet casings are also said to have been found in the cafe.

The 29-year-old man who died has been described as a close ally of Ismail Abdo. According to the police, he is also said to have been one of a few leading figures in the Zero network – a network that was formerly allied with Foxtrot, but broke away when the internal gang conflict started this summer.

After that, they are said to have been loyal to Ismail Abdo’s side. The other man who survived is 32 years old and, according to information to Aftonbladet, is said to be Abdo’s close friend and also linked to Ismail Abdo’s phalanx.

Both men have previously been singled out as targets in the internal Foxtrot conflict. During the autumn, there was a shooting in Handen municipality, which is believed to have been aimed at the relatives of the now dead man.

Details: Zero members have gone to Turkey

The police also fear that Sunday’s act in Turkey could lead to acts of revenge – both in Sweden, but also in Turkey.

In Sweden, the police have put several addresses under surveillance. But shortly after the shooting happened, the police also allegedly saw how several members of the Zero network – the network that the murdered man was a part of – booked a trip from Sweden to Turkey.

According to information, it is suspected to have a connection with the crime.

The Swedish police are currently cooperating with the Turkish police. However, Swedish police do not want to comment further on the case.

“We cannot comment on this specific case, but in general it can be said that Swedish police have an increasingly established cooperation with Turkish police and we share information on an ongoing basis for prosecution purposes, which can strengthen investigations both in Turkey and here at home”
